Buddy Earns His AKC Scent Work Master Title

Our Canine Scent Training has paid off! We had a great day In Watsonville on Saturday February  15, 2020 passing our last two elements (Master Interior and  Buried) for our Master Title. Buddy was spot on and also got a 2nd place in Buried. On now moving on to our Detective Title. 

Scent Dog Training with an Odor Cocktail

NOSE WORK TRAINING TIPS: . Yes, there can be advantages to using an odor cocktail over using an individual scent in canine nose work training. Here are a few potential benefits:

  1. Increased challenge: When multiple scents are blended together in an odor cocktail, the resulting scent is more complex and challenging for the dog to detect. This can help improve the dog's ability to isolate individual scents in real-world situations where multiple scents may be present.

After having a slow start on Friday (0 for 4 Q's)  Buddy and went into high drive and qualified in all of our searches Saturday and Sunday going 8 for 8 qualifying runs.


Buddy earned 2 Excellent Buried Qualifiers, Excellent Container Title, Masters Container Qualifier, 2 Masters Exterior Qualifiers and 2 Masters Interior Qualifiers. 


Placements: 2nd Master Exterior, 2nd Excellent Buried, 2nd Master Interior, 3rd Master Interior, 3rd Master Exterior and 3rd Excellent Container.
